Tamiya Monster Beetle Re-release

This is going to thrill the old school crowd. The Monster Beetle was a huge hit for Tamiya in the golden age of RC during the 1980’s. It was part of the Frog and Blackfoot family, and like many of Tamiya’s models from that time period, the Monster Beetle was practically a household name. Well, Tamiya fans can rejoice in the fact that Tamiya has brought it back.

Fans will also be pleased to know that the original chassis and the hard plastic body are being used. This is a re-release done right. It gets better. The old problematic hex drive rear axles have been upgraded to universal axles. And, for added value, Tamiya includes a brushed motor and its Tamiya TBLE-02 speed control.

If you’re not familiar with this platform, the chassis is a unique space frame design, the rear suspension uses trailing arms and the front is a double-wishbone setup. All four corners feature plastic fluid-filled shocks.
