Truck of the Week: 1/22/2012 Tamiya Clod Buster

Charles Reed sends us his rig that we’ll call a Tamiya Clod Buster because it uses the axles from the classic monster truck. The frame is custom and the tires are RC4WD Mud Slingers on Tamiya TXT-1 rims. The eye-catching body is a International CXT hard plastic shell lifted from a toy-grade RC. Charles uses a Traxxas EVX2 speed control with Traxxas 27-turn motors and dual 4500mAh batteries. Like the chassis, the suspension links are custom made, and Charles added that he fabricated the smokestacks out of 3/8-inch brass tubing.

    1. We, unfortunately, cannot. This is a RC Truck Stop reader’s vehicle that he submitted photos and information of to enter our Truck of the Week feature. It is not a factory vehicle that we can review. Check out our review of the new Tamiya TXT-2 if you’d like to see a similar platform by the same original manufacturer.
