Truck of the Week: 4/15/2012 RC4WD Gelande Jeep

Doug Urban’s scale Jeep is what we call a double take. That is to say, you’ll look twice when you see the photos–at first glance will have wondering if you’re looking at a real Jeep. The RC4WD Gelande Jeep looks undeniably cool and extremely realistic. The Gelande chassis is outfitted with a 4-link suspension and RC4WD T-Rex 60 axles with ARB diff covers. The tires are 1.9-inch RC4WD Rok Lox mounted on replica Jeep JK aluminum rims. A RC 4WD Bulldog 9300XT winch sits on a custom front winch mount. An axle guard made for a Tamiya TLT-1 is used as a “Bull Bar.” For power, Doug went with a Tekin FXR speed control and a 45-turn motor.

  1. This is one jeep i would like to have in my fleet. you did a wonderful job on it Doug. That color stands out and those tires and rims go perfect with it. 🙂

  2. Thanks guys. This is a build I wanted to look scale but functional. It kept me busy over the winter. Other things are in the works for it but as for now I drive it whenever I can. Jeeps are just awesome whether they are tiny or 1:1.
