Tip of the WeeK: 5/20/2012 Shock Reminder

When you’re rebuilding your truck’s suspension, use a Sharpie or similar permanent marker to write the shock’s specs on the side of the body. Traditionally, this tip is used as a way to record of the shock setup, which is, indeed, helpful, but the real benefit is during the reassemble of a truck that has been torn down for rebuild. This tip will eliminate the possibility of mixing up the front and rear shocks. When you rebuild the shocks, put a “F” or “R” depending if it’s a front or rear shock and put the weight of the shock fluid used.
