Truck of the Week: 7/8/2012 Axial SCX10

John Wolfkeil of FubarCrawlers is serious about crawling and it shows in his impressive Axial SCX10. He calls it a Toyota Hybrid, but it’s no Prius. Instead he combined a SCX10 chassis and drivetrain with a Tamiya Hilux body. The body is heavily modified. John joined the cab and bed and then cut the rear cab wall and roof out to make a Toyota 4Runner. He also installed a drop floor in the bed with a rear seat and a full interior. John then topped it off with 3/16″ brake line for the tubing, bumpers and rock rails. John uses a Hitec 5645 servo for steering with a HandBros CMS (Chassis Mounted servo). John uses a Holmes Hobbies TorqueMaster expert 35-turn motor and a Castle Creations Sidewinder speed control. Axial 1.9 rims are wrapped with Pro-Line Racing Super Swamper tires. Rounding out the package is a 3Racing winch.
