Tip of the Week: 10/14/2012 Receiver Protection

As 3- and 4-channel (and even 5-channel) receivers are fairly common these days, most receivers have empty slots on race trucks. To keep dirt and, more importantly, mud and water out while racing, cover the empty slots with a strip of electrical tape. Racers don’t need fully waterproof electronics, but running on a muddy track with a few puddles can spell disaster for completely unprotected gear. Covering the open slots will prevent sprayed water from easily accessing the receiver’s circuit board.
