Did BMW Make a Pickup Truck?

It’s no secret that BMW is one of the most recognizable and respected automobile brands in the world. From luxury sedans to sports cars, BMW has built a reputation for crafting high-end, high-performance vehicles. But one question on many car enthusiasts’ minds is: did BMW make a pickup truck?

The answer is yes—sort of. While BMW never released an official pickup truck model, they did produce a limited number of small utility vehicles known as the Isetta Pickup in 1957.

This vehicle was based on the Isetta microcar, and featured an extended cargo area with removable sides for added versatility. The Isetta Pickup was available in both gasoline and diesel versions, and offered seating for two people.

While the Isetta Pickup was capable of carrying light loads, it wasn’t designed for serious hauling or off-road use. As such, it wasn’t a huge success and production stopped after just two years. That said, it still remains a unique piece of BMW history and is highly sought after by collectors.

Conclusion:

So while BMW never released an official pickup truck model, they did produce a limited number of small utility vehicles known as the Isetta Pickup in 1957. This vehicle was capable of carrying light loads but wasn’t designed for serious hauling or off-road use – so while it exists in some form, it isn’t quite what comes to mind when thinking about a classic pickup truck from BMW.
