Does Toyota Sell a Hybrid Pickup Truck?

Toyota Hybrid Pickup Trucks: Do They Exist?

There is no doubt that Toyota is a leader in the hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) market, with their Prius model being widely hailed as the original standard-bearer for HEVs. But does Toyota offer a hybrid pickup truck? The answer is yes and no.

Toyota does not currently offer a production model of a hybrid pickup truck, but there have been experimental models that were developed in the past. In 2009, Toyota debuted the A-BAT concept at the Detroit Auto Show, which was a compact hybrid pickup truck with an innovative four-seat layout. The A-BAT had a 4-cylinder engine and an electric motor that was powered by an advanced lithium-ion battery.

In 2011, Toyota revealed its FTX concept at the Chicago Auto Show – a full-size pickup truck with a hybrid powertrain. The FTX featured technology similar to that of the A-BAT, but with more power and capability.

It was designed to be an off-road beast, with improved suspension and all terrain tires.

Although these concepts were well received by the public, neither model ever made it into production. It’s possible that Toyota may still be developing a hybrid pickup truck, but nothing has been announced yet.

Conclusion:
