Does VW Sell a Pickup Truck?

Volkswagen is no stranger to pickup truck production, having produced some of the most iconic models in the industry. However, they have not produced a pickup truck in the United States since the Volkswagen Rabbit Pickup (aka Caddy) that was sold from 1979 to 1984.

In recent years, there has been talk of Volkswagen producing a new pickup truck for the US market, with prototypes based on the Amarok being spotted as recently as 2017. However, no official announcement has been made yet and it is unclear if or when Volkswagen will release a pickup truck in the US.

In other parts of the world, Volkswagen does offer a variety of pickups, including the Amarok, which is offered in both single and double cab configurations. The Amarok is powered by either a 2.0-liter turbo diesel or 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel engine and comes with either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive depending on the model. It also offers premium features such as climate control and leather upholstery.

The other pickups that Volkswagen produces are primarily for commercial use and are not available for sale in North America. These include models such as the Saveiro, which is a compact pickup designed for light cargo hauling in South America; and Taro, which is a mid-size pickup offered primarily in Europe and Asia with either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive options depending on the model.

Conclusion:

At this time, Volkswagen does not sell any pickup trucks in North America; however they do produce several models for other markets around the world. There has been speculation about Volkswagen releasing a new pickup truck for sale in North America but no official announcement has been made yet.
