Paddle boarding is a great way to explore the outdoors, but if you’re planning on taking your board on the road, you’ll need to know how to strap it securely to your truck bed. Here are some tips for safely and securely strapping a paddle board on a truck bed:
Gather Supplies
Before you begin, make sure you have the necessary supplies: a set of tie-down straps (rope or bungee cords can also be used), a foam block or other padding material, and foam edge protectors. The foam block will provide extra cushioning between the board and the truck bed, while the edge protectors will help keep the straps from damaging your board.
Position Paddle Board
Start by positioning your paddle board in the center of your truck bed. Make sure it’s snug against the sides of the bed so that it won’t move around during transit. Place the foam block or other padding underneath any areas that might come into contact with metal parts of your truck bed.
Secure Straps
Once you have positioned your board in place, take one end of each strap and secure them onto metal parts of your truck bed. For example, use tie-down loops if available, or secure them onto hooks along the sides of your truck bed. Make sure that each strap is secured tightly but not too tight as this could damage your paddle board.
