How Do You Wash a Truck Bed Cover?

Depending on the fabric of your truck bed cover, washing it can be an easy task, or a more challenging one. If you have a vinyl truck bed cover, you can use a mild soap and water solution to wipe it down. Don’t forget to use the soft side of a sponge or cloth and don’t scrub too hard. Once you’ve finished cleaning the whole surface, rinse with clean water and let it air dry.

For cloth or canvas covers, things are a little more complicated. Before tossing them into the washing machine, make sure to check the tag for any special instructions from the manufacturer. If it says “Hand Wash Only” then you will have to take out your bucket and fill it with warm water and soap before submerging the cover for about 15 minutes.

After that is done, rinse thoroughly with clean water and let air dry completely before folding up or re-installing onto your truck bed.

Conclusion:

Washing a truck bed cover is not difficult as long as you know which type of fabric it is made from. Vinyl covers are simple enough to clean using soap and water whereas cloth/canvas covers require more attention with handwashing or following manufacturer instructions before putting them in the washer.
