Is Monster Truck a Canadian Band?

Monster Truck is a Canadian rock band that was founded in 2009 in Hamilton, Ontario. The band consists of lead vocalist/guitarist Jon Harvey, bassist/backing vocalist Jeremy Widerman, keyboardist Brandon Bliss and drummer Steve Kiely.

Their debut album Furiosity was released in 2013, and their single “Sweet Mountain River” earned them a Juno Award for Breakthrough Group of the Year in 2014. The band has gone on to release two more albums since then: Sittin’ Heavy (2016) and True Rockers (2018).

The band’s sound has been described as blues-infused hard rock with elements of classic rock and modern alternative rock. Their music has been compared to the likes of Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, which is no surprise considering the members are all self-proclaimed fans of classic rock music.

Monster Truck’s live shows have become renowned for their energetic atmosphere and engaging performances. They have toured across North America with acts like ZZ Top, Deep Purple, Alice Cooper and many more. They also frequently make appearances at major festivals such as SXSW, Lollapalooza, Osheaga and Coachella.

The band’s success has spread outside of Canada as well; they have had multiple songs featured on U.S television shows such as NCIS: New Orleans and Scorpion. They’ve also played at a number of European festivals including Belgium’s Graspop Metal Meeting and Germany’s Rock am Ring Festival.

In conclusion, Monster Truck is indeed a Canadian band who have achieved success both within Canada and abroad due to their unique blend of classic rock influences mixed with blues-infused hard rock elements. Their energetic live performances have earned them a loyal fan base around the world, making them one of Canada’s most popular rock bands today.
