Is There a Band Called Monster Truck?

Monster Truck is an Ontario-based rock band that formed in 2009. The band is comprised of four members: lead singer and guitarist Jon Harvey, bassist/backing vocalist Jeremy Widerman, lead guitarist Brandon Bliss, and drummer Steve Kiely. The band has released four studio albums to date and has become a well-known name in the world of hard rock music.

The band’s debut album, Furiosity, was released in 2013 and reached number one on the Canadian Albums Chart. It also featured two singles, “Sweet Mountain River” and “Seven Seas Blues” which gained significant airplay on Canadian radio. Monster Truck’s sound is a mix of classic rock influences such as Led Zeppelin and AC/DC with more modern elements such as bluesy riffs and heavy metal vocals.

The band’s sophomore album, Sittin’ Heavy, was released in 2016 to even greater success than their debut album. The album spawned two hit singles “Don’t Tell Me How To Live” and “Why Are You Not Rockin’?”

both of which achieved considerable success on Canadian radio. The album also earned Monster Truck their first Juno Award for Rock Album of the Year in 2017.

In 2018, Monster Truck released their third studio album True Rockers, again achieving critical acclaim from both fans and critics alike. The album featured the hit single “Evolution” which gained considerable airplay on Canadian radio as well as topping the Billboard Canada Hard Rock Chart. In 2019 they followed up with their fourth studio album entitled Ferocity which included the singles “Being Cool Is Over” and “Denim Danger”.

Monster Truck have firmly established themselves as one of Canada’s premier rock bands with a sound that combines classic rock riffs with modern elements such as bluesy melodies and heavy metal vocals. With four successful albums under their belt, it’s clear that Monster Truck are here to stay!
