Is There a VW Pickup Truck?

The Volkswagen brand is well-known for its reliable and efficient cars, but its pickup truck offerings are less well known. While the company has not offered a full-size pickup truck in the United States since the 1980s, it has recently released a concept vehicle that could become a production version in the near future.

The concept vehicle, called the Volkswagen Atlas Tanoak, is based on the popular Atlas SUV and was unveiled at the 2018 New York International Auto Show. The Tanoak is a mid-size pickup truck that features a unibody design instead of a body-on-frame construction like most traditional pickups. This allows for more cabin space than a traditional pickup while also providing improved stability and handling.

The Atlas Tanoak is powered by VW’s 3.6L V6 engine and is capable of towing up to 5,000 lbs. It also features an 8-speed automatic transmission for smooth shifting and excellent fuel economy.

The exterior features bold styling with LED headlights and 20-inch alloy wheels which give it an aggressive look. Inside, there are comfortable leather seats and plenty of cargo space for hauling whatever you need to get done.

Although VW hasn’t officially announced plans to put the Tanoak into production yet, if they do it could be a great addition to their lineup of vehicles. It would provide buyers with an alternative to traditional pickups while still offering them all of the utility and performance they need from a midsize model.

At this time, it’s unclear if VW will decide to produce this concept vehicle or not but either way it’s certainly exciting news for fans of the brand who have been waiting for more options when it comes to pickup trucks from Volkswagen.

Conclusion: Is there a VW Pickup Truck? It looks like Volkswagen may be planning one in the near future with their recently unveiled Atlas Tanoak concept vehicle. The potential production version could feature bold styling, powerful performance and plenty of cargo space – making it an attractive option for those looking for something different from traditional pickups on the market today.
