What Company Made the First Pickup Truck?

The first pickup truck was created in the early 1900s by the Ford Motor Company. Founded by Henry Ford in 1903, the company had a mission to create affordable, reliable and easy-to-use vehicles for everyday people.

The first pickup truck was the Ford Model TT, which was introduced in 1917. This truck was designed primarily as a commercial vehicle to be used for hauling goods and materials.

The Model TT had a one-ton capacity and was powered by a 20 horsepower four-cylinder engine. It featured a four-speed gearbox, an adjustable seat and two rear wheels that could be adjusted to raise or lower the bed of the truck. It also featured an enclosed cab with two bench seats, making it more comfortable for passengers than many of its competitors.

The Model TT was a success, selling more than 33,000 units over its nine-year production period. In 1925 it was replaced by the Ford Model AA which had improved suspension and brakes as well as an upgraded engine. This model remained in production until 1932.

The success of the Model TT helped lay the groundwork for later models such as the Ford F-Series, which has been one of America’s best-selling vehicles since it debuted in 1948. Today there are dozens of different makes and models of pickup trucks available from various automakers.

Conclusion:

The first pickup truck ever made was created by Ford Motor Company in 1917 with their Model TT. This vehicle proved popular amongst consumers during its nine year run and helped pave the way for other trucks such as Ford’s F-Series that is still popular today.
