What Do I Need for My Truck Camper?

Truck campers are a great way to bring the comfort of camping with you wherever you go. But in order to make sure your truck camper is ready for the road, there are some essential items you’ll need to bring along. From an awning to protect your camper from the sun, to a generator that can power all your appliances and electronics, here’s what you’ll need for your truck camper.

Awning

A good quality awning is a must-have for any truck camper. Not only does it provide shade from the sun and shelter from rain, but it can also give you a place to hang out during inclement weather. Look for an awning that’s easy to set up and take down and made from durable material that won’t rip or tear easily.

Generator

A generator is essential for powering all of your appliances and electronics in your truck camper. Look for one that is fuel efficient and quiet so it won’t disturb the peace of the great outdoors. Additionally, make sure it has enough wattage to power all of your devices.

Cookware

You’ll need cookware that can handle being on the road. Look for pots and pans made from stainless steel or cast iron that are lightweight yet still durable enough to withstand daily use. Don’t forget other kitchen essentials like knives, spatulas, dishes and cutlery.

Sleeping Bags

If you plan on sleeping in your truck camper, be sure to pack a few sleeping bags in various sizes depending on how many people will be using them. Synthetic or down sleeping bags are lightweight yet will keep you warm during cold nights.

Don’t forget about pillows too!

First Aid Kit

No matter where you go camping, it’s always important to have a well-stocked first aid kit on hand just in case of minor injuries or illnesses. Be sure to include basic items such as bandages, antiseptic wipes, gauze pads, ibuprofen and other pain medications.
