What Is the Highest Monster Truck Jump?

Monster trucks are some of the most awe-inspiring vehicles on the planet; they can crush cars with ease, soar through the air, and make jumps like no other vehicle. One of the most impressive feats these giant machines can pull off is the highest monster truck jump, an event that has been recorded since 1983.

The highest monster truck jump record was first set in 1983 by Bob Chandler in his truck Bigfoot. He jumped his truck a massive distance of 151 feet, setting a record that still stands today.

This jump took place at The Pit in Las Cruces, New Mexico as part of an exhibition for the US Hot Rod Association (USHRA). After this jump, Chandler’s Bigfoot went on to become one of the most famous and recognizable monster trucks in history.

In 2006, a new record for the highest monster truck jump was attempted by driver Travis Groth at The Pit in Las Cruces. His attempt failed when he over-jumped and landed on his roof; however, he did manage to get very close to beating Chandler’s record with a jump of 146 feet.

In 2011, another attempt at breaking the record was made at Texas Motor Speedway by driver Scott Douglas driving his truck Maximum Destruction (Max-D). He jumped 141 feet but unfortunately did not break the record; however he did become only the second person to clear 140 feet.

Since then there have been several attempts at breaking the record but none have been successful so far. However, with advances in technology and improvements being made to both monster trucks and tracks every year it is likely that one day someone will be able to beat Chandler’s record and become the new holder of the highest monster truck jump record.

Conclusion: The current world record for highest Monster Truck jump is held by Bob Chandler who jumped 151ft back in 1983 at The Pit – Las Cruces, New Mexico as part of an exhibition for US Hot Rod Association (USHRA). Despite numerous attempts since then no one has been able to beat this remarkable feat – but with advances in technology it is likely that this will happen someday soon!
