What Was the First Four Door Pickup Truck?

The first four-door pickup truck was the Dodge Ram Crew Cab, introduced in 1994. It is a full-size pickup truck based on the popular Dodge Ram, and was designed to provide more passenger room and storage space than the traditional two-door pickup. The Crew Cab was a revolutionary concept at the time, as it allowed up to six passengers to ride in the cab, while still providing plenty of cargo capacity.

The Dodge Ram Crew Cab featured a longer wheelbase than the regular two-door model and had four full doors for easy access for passengers.

The interior was spacious, comfortable, and luxurious with leather seating options available. It also featured an extended cab area in the back that could be used for additional cargo space or as a makeshift third row of seating.

The first generation of the Dodge Ram Crew Cab had several different engine options including a 3.9L V6, 5.2L V8 and 5.9L V8 with either two or four wheel drive options available. A choice of manual or automatic transmission were also offered with this model.

Over the years, other manufacturers have followed suit with their own four-door pickup trucks such as Ford’s SuperCrew F-150 and GMC’s Sierra Denali HD, both of which are still popular today.

Conclusion:

The first four-door pickup truck was the Dodge Ram Crew Cab which revolutionized the market by providing more passenger room and storage space than traditional two-door pickups. Other manufacturers have since followed suit with their own models, but none has been able to match up to the success and wide acceptance that Dodge’s original concept has enjoyed over its near three decade long lifespan.
