Monster Truck Bigfoot is a legendary off-road vehicle that has been delighting fans for more than four decades. Created in 1975, Bigfoot was the first purpose-built monster truck and has since gone on to become an icon of the sport. But, what has happened to Bigfoot in recent years?
Bigfoot is still an active part of the monster truck scene and has had various iterations over the years. The most recent version of the truck was unveiled in 2018 and was driven by Dan Runte.
This particular version is equipped with a 572 cubic inch engine and has a wheelbase of 132 inches. It runs on methanol fuel, giving it plenty of power to take on some of the toughest terrain.
Bigfoot also continues to tour around North America, performing at various monster truck shows and events. In addition to Runte, Bigfoot is now driven by a number of other drivers including Mark Hall, Mark List, and Chris Bergeron. These drivers have helped keep the legacy of Bigfoot alive and continue to entertain fans all over.
In recent years, Bigfoot has also branched out into new realms outside of just performing at monster truck shows. They have been featured in several video games such as Monster Jam: Urban Assault and Monster Jam: Path Of Destruction as well as appearing in commercials for brands like Ford.
Bigfoot also continues to be involved with charities such as St Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Make-A-Wish Foundation through their “Ride with Bigfoot” program which gives sick children the chance to ride along with the team on their stops around North America.
