Who Created Bigfoot Monster Truck?

Bigfoot Monster Truck is a well-known, iconic symbol of the monster truck industry. It was created in 1975 by Bob Chandler and his family in St. Louis, Missouri.

Bob had always been a fan of large vehicles and was particularly inspired by the giant mud-boggers he had seen at local events. He wanted to create something even bigger and better and so the Bigfoot Monster Truck was born.

The first Bigfoot Monster Truck was built from a 1974 Ford F-250 pickup truck that Bob had bought from a junkyard for $800. He then outfitted it with huge 66-inch tall tires, along with a massive suspension system that allowed it to drive over almost anything in its path. The truck quickly became an instant hit at local monster truck shows, as audiences were amazed by its size and power.

In addition to building the first Bigfoot Monster Truck, Bob also founded the Monster Truck Racing Association (MTRA), which organizes monster truck events around the world; he also created many of the safety rules that are still used today in these events. He was also responsible for many other innovations within the sport such as creating FM radio remote control systems that allowed trucks to be driven remotely during shows.

In its four decades of existence, Bigfoot has become an international icon and has been featured in numerous movies, TV shows, video games and comic books. It is one of the longest running monster trucks in existence and continues to be popular to this day thanks to its ever-changing design and bodywork that keeps it looking fresh and exciting for fans both old and new alike.

Bob Chandler passed away in 2005, but his legacy lives on through the Bigfoot Monster Truck brand which is still owned by his family today. The original 1974 Ford F-250 pickup truck can still be seen at many events across the country as it remains one of most sought after pieces of memorabilia for fans of all ages.
