Who Had the First Monster Truck?

Monster trucks have become a staple in the modern day motorsports industry. From their impressive size to the incredible stunts they can pull off, these vehicles have captured the hearts of many fans around the world. But who had the first monster truck?

The first monster truck as we know it today was created by Bob Chandler in 1975. Bob was an avid motorsports enthusiast and had always been interested in taking things to the next level. He wanted to combine his passion for cars with his love of off-roading, so he redesigned a Ford F-250 pick-up truck into what would become known as “Big Foot”.

It featured 66 inch tall tires, an extra-wide wheelbase, and a reinforced frame that allowed it to pull off stunts like wheelies and jumps that no other vehicle at the time could manage.

Big Foot quickly gained traction within the motorsports community and became an instant sensation. Other drivers began creating their own versions of Big Foot, often with different sizes and styles of tires or other modifications for added spectacle. This gave rise to what we now call monster trucks and popularized them throughout America.

Bob would go on to create several more monster trucks in his lifetime and become known as the “Godfather of Monster Trucks” due to his contribution to the sport and its growth over time. He was inducted into both the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame and Motorsports Hall of Fame for his influential work in this area.

Conclusion:

So there you have it – Bob Chandler is credited with creating the very first monster truck, called Big Foot, in 1975 which started this amazing motorsport that continues to thrill crowds around the world today!
