Who Holds the World Record for the Fastest RC Car?

RC cars are miniature versions of full-size vehicles, allowing users to experience the thrill of a race in the comfort of their own home. Since the invention of the radio-controlled car, hobbyists have sought to set records for speed. Who holds the world record for fastest RC car?

Current Guinness World Record holder, Irv Gasser, set his record in 2011 at the Shakedown at E-Town Raceway in New Jersey. His RC car achieved an impressive speed of 175 mph (281 km/h) over a distance of one mile. Irv’s car was powered by a nitro fuel engine and he used a Traxxas XO-1 model to achieve his record-breaking speed.

The Traxxas XO-1 is one of the fastest production RC cars on the market and can reach speeds up to 100 mph (161 km/h). To achieve such high speeds, it must be pushed to its limits with custom tuning and modifications. Irv’s world record was achieved with extensive modifications that included a more powerful engine, improved aerodynamics and lightweight parts.

Although Irv Gasser holds the official Guinness World Record for fastest RC car, other hobbyists have achieved higher speeds with their modified cars. In 2014, Carl Robinson set a new personal best time of 186 mph (299 km/h) with his modified Traxxas XO-1 vehicle. However, this has yet to be officially verified or recognized as a new world record.

Conclusion:

Irv Gasser currently holds the Guinness World Record for fastest RC car at 175 mph (281 km/h). While other hobbyists have achieved higher speeds with their modified vehicles, these have yet to be verified by Guinness as official records.
