Chevrolet first began making pickup trucks in the 1930s with the introduction of the half-ton Model AK Series. These trucks were extremely popular and soon became known as a reliable workhorse for farmers, tradesmen and everyday drivers alike.

Throughout the years, Chevrolet continued to produce new models of pickup trucks with varying sizes and styles. For a period, they also offered single cab variants which were smaller than the standard dual cab models. Single cabs had less space in the cabin but featured a more compact exterior design which made them easier to maneuver around tight spaces.

However, over time Chevrolet discontinued production of its single cab pickups due to declining demand. Today, there are no single cab pickups available from Chevrolet. The closest thing is the Chevy Colorado which features an extended cab with two rows of seating for up to four passengers.
