Does Hyundai Have a Small Pickup Truck?

The question of whether Hyundai has a small pickup truck has been asked by many car enthusiasts for years. While Hyundai does not currently make a small pickup truck, it may soon.

The company has been rumored to be considering the development of a compact pickup truck that would be very similar to the popular Toyota Tacoma or Nissan Frontier.

Hyundai is no stranger to the world of pickups. The company already produces the Santa Cruz, a two-door crossover SUV with a bed in the back that can carry cargo and function as a light-duty truck.

It’s also available in both four-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions, giving it some versatility for off-roading and hauling heavier loads. Hyundai also produces commercial vans such as the H100 and H350, which are designed for transporting goods.

So why hasn’t Hyundai produced a small pickup truck? The answer is likely due to market conditions and consumer demand.

Small pickups have become increasingly popular in recent years, with more drivers opting for these types of vehicles due to their affordability and size. But while there is certainly a market for these trucks, it’s not large enough yet to warrant Hyundai producing its own model.

However, there is evidence that suggests Hyundai may be considering entering the small pickup market in the near future. In 2020, the company launched an internal project called ‘Project Frontier’, which was aimed at researching and developing a small pickup truck. While this project was eventually scrapped due to cost concerns, it shows that Hyundai is open to exploring this option.

Conclusion:

At this point in time, it appears that Hyundai does not have any plans to produce its own small pickup truck. However, with increasing consumer demand for these types of vehicles and evidence that Hyundai was exploring this option in 2020, it’s possible that they may enter the market soon.
