How Do You Make a Wooden Truck Bed Rack?

A wooden truck bed rack is an essential tool for anyone who uses their truck for hauling items. It provides a convenient way to secure any items you’re transporting, be it camping gear or tools. Making your own wooden truck bed rack is relatively easy and requires only basic carpentry skills.

Materials Needed

  • 2”x4” lumber
  • Power drill and bits
  • Wood screws
  • Sandpaper
  • Wood glue or construction adhesive
  • Paint or stain (optional)

Instructions:

(2) Position the four pieces in a rectangle shape, creating one long side piece, one short side piece, and two end pieces.

(3) Secure all four pieces together with wood screws.

(4) Sand down any rough edges or splinters on your frame.

(5) If desired, paint or stain your frame.

(6) Attach a piece of 2×4 across the top of your frame as a crossbar to help support heavier loads.

(7) Secure the crossbar with wood glue or construction adhesive at each end.

Conclusion:
Making a wooden truck bed rack is an easy project that requires minimal tools and materials. With simple carpentry skills and a few hours of work, you can create a sturdy rack to help secure any items you’re hauling in your truck.
