What Was the First Ever Monster Jam Truck?

Monster Jam is a form of motorsport entertainment that has been around since the mid-1970s. It is made up of custom-built monster trucks performing stunts and tricks on dirt, asphalt, and other surfaces.

Each truck’s design is unique, with many of them being completely custom-built. But what was the very first Monster Jam truck?

The very first Monster Jam truck was a modified Ford F-150 pickup called Bigfoot. It was created in 1975 by Bob Chandler, an avid car enthusiast from St. Louis, Missouri.

Chandler wanted to create an “over the top” vehicle that could do stunts and tricks like never before seen in a show. He took his F-150 and added larger tires, a more powerful engine, and larger shocks to create Bigfoot.

Chandler used his new creation to perform at various fairs and outdoor events throughout the Midwest in the late 1970s and early 1980s. He quickly gained popularity due to his unique stunts and tricks that no other truck had achieved before him. In 1981, he officially formed Bigfoot 4×4 Inc., which allowed him to take his show on the road.

The popularity of Bigfoot continued to grow throughout the 1980s as he performed at more events across the country. His stunts were so impressive that he began making appearances in television commercials for companies such as General Motors and Budweiser.

In 1992, Bob Chandler sold Bigfoot 4×4 Inc. to Feld Motorsports who then formed Monster Jam with it as its centerpiece. Since then, Monster Jam has grown exponentially into one of the most popular motorsports entertainment series in America today.
