For many years now, Hyundai and Kia have been two of the biggest names in the automotive industry. Both companies have made their mark by manufacturing reliable and affordable vehicles, but what about pickup trucks? Does Hyundai or Kia make a pickup truck?
Hyundai has had a few pickups in its lineup over the years, most notably the Santa Cruz. The Santa Cruz is a small, unibody pickup truck that was introduced in 2021 and is currently sold in select markets around the world. While it may not be a true off-roader like some other pickups, it does offer a unique combination of car-like comfort and utility that makes it an attractive option for those in need of an everyday vehicle that can also do some light towing or hauling.
Kia has not yet released a pickup truck of its own, though there have been rumors that one may be on the way. In 2020, Kia introduced the “B-SUV” concept vehicle which featured many of the same characteristics as a pickup truck, including an open bed and rugged styling. While this concept never made it to production, it could be seen as an indication that Kia is interested in entering this segment of the market in the future.
As of 2021, neither Hyundai nor Kia currently offers a pickup truck for sale. While there have been rumors and concepts from both companies hinting at future plans to enter this segment of the market, nothing has been officially announced yet. If you’re looking for a new pickup truck right now, you’ll have to look elsewhere.
